Bon Appetit:
Start to finish, planning, cooking, serving and clean up of a basic meal. This is published in "skill cards" format, to print page 2 on the back of page 1, then cut the squares apart. This allows for working one one task at a time, or assigning tasks to more than one person. Page 2 can be printed separately and cut apart, to be used as a matching game as well. (2 pages)
This handbook is not a rule-book. It is a conversation-starter. Parents and caregivers will read and adjust the lessons to fit their situation. First, identify which skills are already mastered and celebrate those! Then pick one or two to work on, until mastered, before adding another . Many of these skills are best learned by watching and doing with a partner first. Remember to be patient and encouraging, and reward their efforts! The posters can be hung on the wall for parents and caregivers to refer to while training students. And students can learn independence by referring to the poster without guidance. Posters can be printed and pictures cut apart to use as assignment cards or flash cards.
